The Prediction has been Fulfilled

An African American, 47-year-old Barack Obama radically changed the history of the United States on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 9 p.m. On this day, he was declared President of the most powerful country in the world.

He overwhelmingly won this election with 70 % of the Latino vote.  After a final hour of the electoral process and with more than 365 electoral votes, McCain called Obama to congratulate him and to recognize his defeat.

Obama’s predecessors fought and sacrificed their lives for the same cause.  Martin Luther King Jr. along with other martyrs paved the way for revolutionaries like Obama.

Barack Obama arrived in this world during an era of racial conflicts. He understood these conflicts well, as his mother was white and his father was black.  He overcame all of the odds that surrounded him at the time. He notably became a candidate for presidency during a time in which the Democratic Party experienced scarce economic resources. When we learned about this Senator from Chicago and his mission for change, organizations and distinguished people in the political and industrial fields offered to support his candidacy.

It is necessary to emphasize the contribution that one of the largest unions in the United States -- SEIU made to support him.  We all agreed that our nation needed drastic change and improvement. We have been involved in a war that has drained all of our financial resources both at the state and federal levels. Not to mention all the valuable human losses, which have led to a situation of instability and a recession that is affecting the rest of the world. We are on the verge of a collapse due to the bad administration we have had for the last eight years.

We expect to see change under this new administration.
