Mark Ridley-Thomas Walk

member reporterDonna Davis

October 25th, 2008 marks the day that the Alliance for a Stronger Community held a walk for Mark Ridley-Thomas, who ran for LA County Supervisor. Early in the morning, volunteers gathered in Culver City to collect their materials for precinct walking. Dedicated volunteers went door to door in Los Angeles neighborhoods, armed with flyers that contained valuable information about Mark Ridley-Thomas and his remarkable accomplishments.

Mark Ridley-Thomas is a strong advocate of policies that will help working families and he has been endorsed by LA County Sheriff Lee Baca, LA Police Chief William Bratton, as well as the Democratic Party and many more. Mark has worked as a teacher, a civil right’s leader, City Council member, State Assemblyman and State Senator.

Last year, Mark helped expand the Public School Health Center Program to help children attain health care. Knowing all that Mark has done for his community made it an easy task to get out the vote for this race.

The hard work of the volunteers has paid off because Mark Ridley-Thomas is now our newly elected LA County Supervisor. It was enjoyable to participate in the walk for Mark Ridley-Thomas.
