Workers Meet to Join Forces

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On November 8th in Oxnard, California, the first joint Tri-County and LA County Latino Caucus came together to celebrate the unity and diversity that give strength to the workers of locals 721 and 6434.
The celebration was sponsored by a diverse group of labor caucuses: the Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander, Lavender, Social and Economic Justice and African American.

Community Activists Meet to Build Bridges

On September 17th, seniors and other residents from the Thai community enjoyed a luncheon featuring traditional Thai cuisine at a neighborhood restaurant.
The gathering was sponsored by the Thai Health and Information Services, Inc. (THAIS, Inc.) in Los Angeles.
As an organization, THAIS strives to educate the Thai community about the social services and other community resources that are available to them. Many residents of the Thai community are low-income and monolingual.

Summer Interns Learn about ULTCW

If you’ve noticed young faces at the union offices and thought that the
staff was getting younger, well, you can relax and rejoice. They aren’t staff – they are youth coordinators, participating in a new internship program sponsored by ULTCW, Youth ACTION and the Constitutional Rights Foundation (CRF).
