ABOUT US
:

The SEIU-ULTCW Seniors Association, founded in 2008, is a statewide advocacy group.  Our board is comprised of senior leaders and advocates among our membership body and our statewide community partners.  The Association is sponsored through SEIU-ULTCW and through our affiliated community partners.

MISSION and PURPOSE:

The SEIU-ULTCW Seniors Association focuses its primary attention on legislative/community and consumer issues that impact older adults and people with disabilities.

Delegates within the Senior Association are appointed to represent SEIU-ULTCW’s voice, maintain relationships, and build a bridge with affiliate grassroots organizations that share the same advocacy interests.

SEIU-ULTCW Seniors Association hosts a variety of activities that caters to older adults to educate, empower and improve the comfort of their lives.

Our Mission

The mission of ULTCW’s Community Relations is to enhance the quality of life in neighborhoods where our members and consumers live and work. ULTCW's coalitions carry out its mission by assisting all the components that encompass the entire structure in partnership with community agencies, leaders and public officials.  The community outreach initiatives provides resources that strengthen the communities at large, deepen ULTCW’s ties to diverse communities, and foster positive relations between ULTCW and those people who are most directly affected by ULTCW’s presence in the area.

Over the years the union has built strong partnerships with diverse communities to establish resources and link them to create and support a variety of projects and programs to assist with uplifting our members out of poverty.  By building bridges for more sustainable communities, along with community partners and stakeholders, has enhanced the quality of life of our neighbors, members, and consumers by addressing educational, cultural, economic development and safety issues.

CR Staff collaborates closely with community leaders; community based organizations; and other ULTCW geographical regions throughout California known as divisions/departments.  CR Staff work to facilitate and implement ULTCW’s mission developed into Community initiatives as well as document and evaluate the union’s community involvement.
