On July 14th and 15th, SEIU long-term care workers across California will come together in an official hearing at the Marriott Manhattan Beach (Calif.) Hotel to discuss how homecare and nursing home workers should be organized into local unions.  This hearing represents a milestone step in the ongoing march of progress toward California long-term care workers receiving the respect and treatment they deserve.

In historic month, SEIU-ULTCW Organizes 347 New Nursing Home Employees

From May 23 to June 20, 347 employees at five different nursing homes throughout the state voted overwhelmingly in favor of uniting with SEIU Healthcare United Long-Term Care Workers’ Union.

ULTCW Joins with Children’s Defense Fund to Offer Free Educational Enrichment Program

The Children’s defense fund, with the generous help of ULTCW and in association with the community group Success in Challenges, will be offering a free educational enrichment program this summer.  The program is first-come, first-serve and is open to all children, free of charge.  

Antonovich to Governor: STOP THE CUTS

LA County Supervisor Michael Antonovich sent Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger a personal letter on June 26, 2008, asking him to protect the thousands of seniors and people with disabilities who rely on the In-Home Supportive Services and halt his proposed cuts.
